Dr. Sumandeep Brar was born in Arizona, before moving to India where she grew up with her large extended family, relocating to California in her youth. She loved growing up in India, surrounded by her large family, cousins, and grandparents. From a young age, Dr. Sumandeep Brar has felt a connection with people, empathizing with their stories. When she realized the positive impact that physicians have in the community, she decided to go into medicine.
She received her MBBS – Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery degree from Christian Medical College in Ludhiana, India and completed her residency at The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley in Edinburg, Texas.
