Dr. Sudhakar Madanagopal, also known as “Dr. Su,” is Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. He is a member of The Orthopaedic Center (TOC) Joint Replacement and Trauma Centers of Excellence. Previously Dr. Madanagopal served as Associate Professor and Director of Orthopaedic Trauma and Adult Reconstruction for the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of South Alabama College of Medicine in Mobile, AL. He was also Joint Assistant Professor of Physician Assistant Studies and a Clinical Instructor at the University of South Alabama College of Medicine. His fellowships include Orthopaedic Sports Medicine, Orthopaedic Trauma, Hip Arthroscope or Hip Preservation and Adult Reconstructive Surgery. Dr. Madanagopal completed residencies in preliminary surgery and orthopaedic surgery in Connecticut and India. He has served on numerous committees and was awarded The Mitchell Medical Scholars Program Award from the University of South Alabama College of Medicine. Dr. Madanagopal’s studies have appeared in numerous publications including the American Journal of Orthopaedics, Journal of Sports Science and Medicine, and Journal of Orthopaedic Surgery and Research.

Dr Su is very thorough and conscientious. He listened well and responds appropriately.
He was very thorough in explaining my knee issue. He was asked lots of questions and didn't assume he knew the answers. He told me the next steps to take care of my knee and asked if I understood the treatment planned if I had questions. Great visit.
The doctor gave me honest, straightforward information about my injury. Explained the options clearly. I appreciated his information on surgery recovery.
So thoughtful, considerate, and detail oriented, always reviews his notes to ensure it’s the correct patient. He’s thinking about. Always takes the time to listen to what I have to say or any concerns I raise.
