Dr. Sudhakar Madanagopal, also known as “Dr. Su,” is Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. He is a member of The Orthopaedic Center (TOC) Joint Replacement and Trauma Centers of Excellence. Previously Dr. Madanagopal served as Associate Professor and Director of Orthopaedic Trauma and Adult Reconstruction for the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of South Alabama College of Medicine in Mobile, AL. He was also Joint Assistant Professor of Physician Assistant Studies and a Clinical Instructor at the University of South Alabama College of Medicine. His fellowships include Orthopaedic Sports Medicine, Orthopaedic Trauma, Hip Arthroscope or Hip Preservation and Adult Reconstructive Surgery. Dr. Madanagopal completed residencies in preliminary surgery and orthopaedic surgery in Connecticut and India. He has served on numerous committees and was awarded The Mitchell Medical Scholars Program Award from the University of South Alabama College of Medicine. Dr. Madanagopal’s studies have appeared in numerous publications including the American Journal of Orthopaedics, Journal of Sports Science and Medicine, and Journal of Orthopaedic Surgery and Research.

Besides being 1 hour and 40 minutes late to my appointment, Dr. Su was very personal, knowledgeable, and I think spot on with my hip injury diagnosis. I was pleased with my first meeting with him, when he finally showed.
Dr. Su is a wonderful doctor. Always patient, kind and reassuring. Takes time and never in a rush
Dr. Su is not only a top surgeon but so great at taking time to explain everything, even drawing pictures, and answering all my questions. My new hip and knee are great!

Dr. Su was patient not only with our 15 year-old son, but with our questions. He did an amazing job of thoroughly explaining the issue, his recommendations for treatment, and encouraged us to let our son feel more confident in the plan before we move forward. That spoke volumes to me. Not to mention he was obviously knowledgeable at his craft; which gave us a lot of confidence in moving forward with him in charge of our son’s care.
