Dr. Steven Wahlmeier, MD was born and raised outside Hastings, Nebraska. He attended the University of Nebraska - Lincoln and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry. He received his medical degree from the University of Nebraska Medical Center. He completed his Orthopaedic Surgery Residency at the William Beaumont Hospital outside Detroit, Michigan. He completed a fellowship with specialized training in Orthopaedic Spine Surgery at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia.

Dr. Wahlmeier is married and has three children. He stays busy with school and kids’ activities but enjoys golfing and other outdoor activities in his free time. He is looking forward to being back in Nebraska near out friends and extended family as well as being able to serve the communities they grew up in.

I definitely will recommend Dr. Wahlmeier to anyone that asked me how my surgery and recovery went. He sits down with you and explains everything that's going to happen and exactly what he'll be doing during the surgery. He's so professional with great bedside manners in my recovery has been so great. My surgery was June 1st 2026 today is June 6th 2026 and I am feeling so good. My pain is completely gone from my neck, shoulders and arms that I suffered with for 6 months. My whole family and myself are so blessed to have found Dr. Wahlmeier. He has improved my quality of life so much.
