Dr. Steven W. Stetson, M.D., joined Diamond Vision as one of the most acclaimed LASIK surgeons, following a distinguished career as Chief of Ophthalmology and Medical Director of the Air Force Academy Laser Eye Clinic. Under his leadership, the clinic achieved the best surgical outcomes among the Air Force’s six centers, earning him recognition for exceptional patient satisfaction. Dr. Stetson made history by performing the first LASIK procedure on a U.S. Air Force active-duty member—a four-star general leading U.S. Space Command—a milestone that helped change Air Force regulations to allow LASIK for active-duty personnel.
A native of Connecticut and raised in Upstate New York, Dr. Stetson graduated Cum Laude from Colgate University and earned his MD with honors from the University of Vermont College of Medicine. During his residency at Albany Medical Center, he excelled in Ophthalmology Knowledge Assessment Exams, achieving top percentile rankings.
Since joining Diamond Vision in 2004 and becoming Medical Director in 2006, Dr. Stetson has performed over 80,000 refractive surgeries, solidifying his reputation as a leader in the field.
