Explained procedure, post op and recovery expectations completely and was very polite about answering my questions. I would recommend Dr. Howell for any orthopaedic needs.

Had a lot of pain on the bottom of my left foot. Dr. Howell knew exactly what the problem was and did everything to avoid surgery. Ended up needing to do the surgery and it was successful. Back to being active and running again without pain thanks to the doctor and his team.

Dr. Howell is amazing!!He has been with me over the last 3 years.Dr. Howell and his p.a.Shawn have had to do a lot of planning and problem solving. They are compassionate and so caring.♥️

Dr. Steven Howell is a board-certified Orthopaedic Surgeon specializing in foot and ankle surgery. He received his medical degree from the University of Kansas and completed his residency in orthopaedic surgery at the University of Kansas School of Medicine, in Wichita.
Dr. Howell completed his fellowship in foot and ankle surgery at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, making him the first physician in the state with this type of training.
In working with patients, Dr. Howell feels that being a Wichita native is a plus. His familiarity with the people and the area helps build trust, which is an important part of his style of practicing medicine. He feels that a patient's confidence in his abilities and judgment promotes open communication essential to successful diagnosis and treatment of orthopaedic disorders.
Dr. Howell is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society, American Medical Association, Kansas Medical Society and the Medical Society of Sedgwick County. Dr. Howell is also a Clinical Associate Professor in Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Kansas School of Medicine in Wichita.
