Dr. Steven H. Chang, M.D., completed his undergraduate degree in Bioengineering at Massachusetts Institute of Technology and earned his M.D from New York University School of Medicine. He stayed at NYU Langone Health for his Internal Medicine residency training, and then completed a fellowship in Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Emory University School of Medicine.
Dr. Chang chose gastroenterology because it offered a great balance of patient care with procedures. His previous research studies included analyzing colorectal cancer trends in young adults and evaluating high-risk endoscopy patients in the inpatient hospital setting. Dr. Chang's interests in gastroenterology include colorectal cancer screening, gastroesophageal reflux disease, general hepatology, gastrointestinal bleeding, and healthcare disparities.
When not in the clinic or at the hospital, Dr. Chang enjoys spending time with his wife and family, traveling abroad, and exploring all the new eats that Atlanta has to offer.
When asked what the best part of his job is, Dr. Chang says, "I feel very blessed to be able to help patients who suffer from gastrointestinal issues, and I am so thankful for the opportunity to serve my community in this way."
