Went in to have a stent leftover from when I had kidney stones removed. Dr. Untenberg said it might be hard to remove . And could be a little uncomfortable. Wrong , there is no way this procedure should be done while the patient is conscious. He said he would not try to torture me. He did worse than that . The stent was obviously grown into my flesh . And when he started to grab it and tear it loose , the pain was the worst I have ever experienced. And I've had . But when I started screaming to stop, he kept on trying again . Like he was determined to get it regardless of my pain . After he finally pulled it out . The pain didn't stop ,it seemed to get worse . I could hardly breath , almost threw up and pooped at the same time . It took me like half hour to recover enough to try and get dressed. It was the most painful and traumatic thing I have ever had to undergo. Its been 6 hrs now . Pain is still severe after I took 3 oxy , wondering if he screwed me up . DO NOT HAVE THIS DONE.

I was extremely disappointed by the pain management provided during my Bulkamid procedure with Dr. Stephen Unterberg. I was given one Tylenol and lidocaine jelly that was instilled into my urethra. I was not given an injected local anesthetic. The procedure became so intensely painful that I had to ask him to stop. What troubles me most is that I specifically asked Dr. Unterberg during the procedure whether I could have an injection of local anesthetic because I was in so much pain, and I was not given one. Afterward, members of the staff acknowledged to me that they know this is one of the most painful procedures performed in the office. Once I got home, I looked up Bulkamid’s own clinical guidance. The manufacturer’s procedure guide describes placing anesthetic gel inside the urethra AND injecting lidocaine bilaterally alongside the urethra before the procedure. I also found published research showing significantly lower pain when a periurethral lidocaine block is added to intraure
