A graduate of Cornell Medical College, Dr. Stephen Falatyn specializes in treating complex spinal conditions and he performs the most complicated spinal reconstructions. His spine training included two spine fellowships, the first at Thomas Jefferson University and the second at Temple University. He specializes in spinal deformity surgery and minimally invasive spinal surgery, treating both children and adults. Conditions treated by Dr. Falatyn include scoliosis, spondylolisthesis, nerve compression from disc herniations and spinal stenosis, and spinal fractures.
Dr. Falatyn's original interest was engineering, where he excelled at Cornell University. He then worked designing and building complex machinery for several international corporations. Excellent at working with his hands, he has continued that interest in medicine and he has established himself as a top spinal surgeon working in the Lehigh Valley since 1997. Dr. Falatyn received special recognition for his achievements in medical school at Cornell Medical College. His research has appeared in numerous respected national publications, and he continues with teaching at medical schools and scientific meetings.
Dr. Falatyn has an outstanding reputation for his personalized patient care. He is also dedicated to charity work in Eastern Europe where he trains spinal surgeons and treats underserved patients. On a personal level, he enjoys maintaining his own health playing rugby on a national and international level.

When Dr entered the room introduced him self, told me he reviewed all my records. Explained where the pain was coming from. Dr Falatyn answered all questions in great detail. I would recommend him highly.
Doctor Falatyn is a gem in this field. He was considerate in taking the time to talk with myself & about my concerns. He was thoughtful in how he approached hard topics & honest with the information he provided me. I would recommend him to anyone as a provider.

Dr. Falatyn is one of the best doctor I have ever had! I have had more than a dozen surgeries before. He is a excellent surgeon and very thorough. I thank God, that he fixed my back issues!!
He is the most thorough, caring, professional and knowledgeable doctor I have ever seen. He listened to my concerns, examined and reexamined X-rays, MRIs, my medical history, and provided the best treatment. He explained the issues, surgery and after care clearly and respectfully. Highly recommend!!
I was looking for guidance moving forward but after waiting over one hour for him to enter the exam room he seemed to be too busy for me. He stated that “he has been very patient with me” and “I explained all this to you before”. After showing me so much patience and explaining to me all that was involved before my surgery and praying with me I was let down. I will move on to Penn Medicine for my concerns.
