Stephanie Cotell, M.D.

Dr. Stephanie Cotell, M.D. is a board-certified dermatologist at Northeast Dermatology, where she has spent the last 15 years diagnosing and treating conditions of the skin, hair, and nails in patients of all ages. She practices a holistic approach to skincare, educating patients on how to achieve and maintain healthy skin while keeping their lifestyles and expectations in mind. She takes joy in helping patients look and feel their best so they have the confidence to live their lives to the fullest.

Dr. Cotell believes that when patients are invested in their skincare and educated about skin cancer, sun protection, and sun safety, they enjoy long-term benefits for their overall health. Treating each patient as a unique individual, she listens closely to their concerns, prior treatments, and questions. Because the skin can serve as an outer representation of underlying health issues, she strives to provide patients with dedicated time, thorough education about their conditions, and innovative, cost-conscious treatments.

A proud native of Chicago, Dr. Cotell graduated Cum Laude from Duke University and earned her medical degree from Northwestern University, graduating as a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. She completed her internship and dermatology residency at Northwestern University, serving as Chief Resident in Dermatology. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, and her research has been published in esteemed national medical journals, including the New England Journal of Medicine, Archives of Internal Medicine, International Journal of Dermatology, American Journal of Emergency Medicine, and the Journal of Investigative Dermatology. She frequently lectures across the country on topics such as atopic dermatitis, rosacea, psoriasis, and acne, and is regularly consulted for skincare advice in magazines, online blogs, newspapers, and television.
