He is also a member of American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons, Pennsylvania Podiatric Medical Association, American Podiatric Medical Association, and American Society of Podiatric Surgeons.
His clinical expertise are Total Ankle Replacement, Foot and Ankle Surgery, Lower Extremity Trauma, Arthroscopy, and Charcot Foot.
Dr. Monaco has been published in numerous journals and textbooks on various conditions affecting the foot and ankle. He received advanced training in Kurgan, Russia, at the Ilizarov Center, on circular ring external fixation. Dr. Monaco enjoys outdoor activities, hockey and traveling.

Fantastic explanation of post operative complications and treatment for said complications as well as being very reassuring.
I had Xrays taken and spoke with a resident (?) at length during my visit before seeing Catara. He did not address my concerns regarding a short term and long term problem with my feet. He never mentioned anything about X-rays or structure of my feet etc. He did make it a point to correct me when I used the wrong terminology; and ultimately asked me what I wanted. He could have given me an overview of what he was seeing with my feet (good/bad) and then concluded that a neurologist would be the next best step. Terrible bedside manner for someone who could barely walk for the past few days due to nerve pain.
Dr. Monaco is one of my all time favorite doctors. He is always pleasant with a smile and warm welcome. He takes his time dealing with any issue you may have.His advice and recommendations are always well taken.
