Doctor is great but... some on the Office staff which answers the phone, may be new or untrained. They are polite, but I have had problems . getting through on the phone and in getting queries answered about prescriptions and receiving test results. I've sensed a change from the way it used to be
Dr. Sharon Hochweiss, MD, has been in practice with her husband, Dr. Gary Horbar, for nearly 25 years. Developing a collaborative and connected relationship with her patients is central to her holistic and patient-centered approach to care.
Dr. Hochweiss’ passion for medicine started early when she attended The Bronx High School of Science. She received her medical degree from New York Medical College and conducted her internal medicine internship and residency at Lenox Hill Hospital.
Following her residency, Dr. Hochweiss began her hematology fellowship at Mount Sinai Hospital and combined her love of travel and medicine by continuing the program at Hammersmith Hospital in London, England. She also completed a fellowship in oncology at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center.
Dr. Hochweiss is boarded in both internal medicine and hematology.
Currently, Dr. Hochweiss is a preceptor at SUNY Downstate Medical Center and teaches at Lenox Hill Hospital.
Dr. Hochweiss is a member of Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society (AOA) and has admitting privileges at Lenox Hill Hospital.
