Sharde Chambers, D.O., is a board-certified cardiologist committed to advancing cardiovascular health through prevention, clinical excellence, medical education, and community advocacy. A first-generation American of Jamaican heritage and the first member of her immediate family to graduate from college, Dr. Chambers brings a deeply personal understanding of perseverance, cultural identity, and health equity to her practice.
She completed her Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship at Morehouse School of Medicine, following her residency in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital System. After residency, Dr. Chambers served as an Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine in the Division of Internal Medicine, where she worked as a faculty member and hospitalist.Dr. Chambers earned her medical degree from Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine (formerly UMDNJ-SOM) and her undergraduate degree in Biology, with departmental honors, from the University of Miami. She also holds a Master’s Degree in Biomedical Sciences from Barry University.Her clinical interests lie at the intersection of social medicine and cardiovascular health, with a particular focus on serving disenfranchised and underserved populations.
She is deeply committed to health equity, mentorship, and increasing diversity in medicine. From 2022 to 2024, Dr. Chambers served as a committee member on the Association of Black Cardiologists (ABC) Fellows In Training Committee. She continues to mentor aspiring physicians and trainees through several national organizations, including the Association of Black Cardiologists (ABC), the Student National Medical Association (SNMA), and the American College of Cardiology (ACC) Internal Medicine Cardiology Program.As a medical student, she co-founded the Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Action (I.D.E.A.) Council at RowanSOM and played a pivotal role in organizing the school’s first annual Diversity Week. Prior to her medical career, she served as the Volunteer Coordinator at the Miami Rescue Mission, organizing community efforts to address homelessness—a spirit of service that continues to shape her approach to medicine.
Outside the clinic, Dr. Chambers enjoys staying active at the gym, exploring new recipes and local restaurants, traveling with friends and family, and attending concerts and cultural festivals. She grounds her life through her faith and values living with intention, purpose, and compassion.Dr. Chambers considers it a lifelong blessing to serve others through medicine while working to make meaningful change in the communities she serves.
