Dr. Shannon A. Johnson is a board-certified Psychiatrist by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. She received her medical degree from the University of South Alabama in Mobile. Dr. Johnson completed her psychiatry residency program at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, TX. She obtained her Bachelor of Science degree at Alabama State University in Montgomery, Alabama, and graduated Magna Cum Laude. Dr. Johnson is licensed in Texas and Mississippi. She is a Member of Texas Medical Association and the Texas Federation of Psychiatrists.
Throughout her studies, Dr. Johnson has developed a passion for helping hurting individuals. She strongly believes in connecting with individuals on a personal level, which is the key in the treatment process. Dr. Johnson maintains a firm belief that treating the person is her main priority.
Dr. Johnson has an extensive background in treating adults with Anxiety, Bipolar Mood Disorder, Depression, Obsessive - Compulsive Disorder, Post Partum Depression, PostTraumatic Stress Disorder and Schizophrenia. Dr. Johnson has many years of experience working with adults in the outpatient psychiatric setting, primarily performing medication management.
