Dr. Shandiz Tehrani, M.D. is a fellowship-trained and board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in the clinical and surgical management of patients with glaucoma, cataracts, and comprehensive eye care needs.
After receiving his undergraduate degree from Occidental College (summa cum laude), he joined the Medical Scientist Training Program at Washington University for his combined MD-PhD degrees. He completed his ophthalmology residency training at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU), followed by a glaucoma fellowship at the University of Iowa. Prior to joining Eye Care Physicians & Surgeons, Dr. Tehrani was Associate Professor of Ophthalmology at OHSU in Portland.
Dr. Tehrani’s research interests include the cellular and molecular mechanisms of glaucoma, patient outcomes after eye surgery, and screening for vision loss and glaucoma using the latest detection modalities. His research findings have been published in The Journal of the American Medical Association, Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, and Scientific Reports – Nature.
