Shahid Yakoob, MD

Dr. Shahid Yakoob, M.D. joined Sunrise Medical Center in 2008. He attended Sindh Medical College in Karachi, Pakistan and completed his internship at Jinnah Medical Center in the same city. Residency in Internal Medicine was completed in 2002 at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. He received the annual “Outstanding Competence, Compassion and Curiosity” award in 2002. Fellowship in pulmonary disease followed at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh. Dr. Yakoob continued his education with a Fellowship in Critical Care Medicine at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston Salem, North Carolina.

He entered private practice in New Castle, Pennsylvania where he remained for three years before moving to Arizona and joining Sunrise. He is board certified in Pulmonary Disease, Critical Care Medicine and Sleep Medicine.

He is married with three children. In his spare time, Dr. Yakoob enjoys running, hiking and reading.
