His training also includes the use of ultrasound for diagnosis and treatment, including ultrasound-guided hip injections.

During his training, he gained experience in the treatment of collegiate and professional athletes, assisting with team physicians for the Chicago Bears, Chicago Fire, and the Chinese Olympic Volleyball Team.
Dr. Yi was born in Jeju, South Korea but grew up in St. Petersburg, Florida. He obtained his undergraduate degree in biology from Emory University and earned his Doctor of Medicine from Drexel University College of Medicine before completing his residency in orthopaedic surgery at Northeast Ohio Medical University. He then completed additional fellowship training in Orthopaedic Surgery Sports Medicine at the University of Chicago, where he trained in advanced, minimally invasive arthroscopic and open techniques.

I saw Christian Johansson today. Very nice pleasant young man. Listens to my words and concerns. He asks the right questions.
Seemed very rushed, explained X-rays and how i needed physical therapy. I explained I had multiple health issues and wanted to try cortisone shot. He did not agree but said if I wanted one he would do it. He just seemed like he was having a bad day. Needs a little more compassion for seniors 78 years old.
It’s always great to visit with Doctor Yi I’ve seen him twice for elbow pain he will always tell you what is best you as a patient but still gives you the right to decide what you prefer… I’m hoping and praying that I made the right decision for myself at this moment because pain s bad I decided against his wishing of not getting another cortisone shot only because pain is very bad, I will continue the Therapy as he recommended. Thank you Doctor Yi for your great service and help.
Very easy to get his full attention and easy to get explanation of problem and Curator feel better!
Felt rushed, like he was in a hurry to get on to the next person. Like I was just a number, not a person.
Dr. Yi was attentive and a great listener. He answered all my questions and addressed my concerns. Top tier!

Took time to answer questions. Very professional and knowledgeable. Did not want to do anything that was not necessary. Great personality. I would highly recommend him.
Doctor is great but the team are not very helpful.
Dr. Yi and his team provided exceptional care during my ACL repair. From the consultation to recovery, they were professional, knowledgeable, and compassionate. The surgery went smoothly, and I felt supported throughout the process. Highly recommended!
