With a complete reversal of philosophy for my planned treatment of prostate cancer; I was just cut loose from his care without explaining why. “Work with your primary care physician. I don’t need to see you again”. After quarterly checking with my previous urologist, I feel confused: was previous treatment excessive? Need reason given, just “no need to come back”. I feel abandoned.

Dr. Sepehr Nowfar, M.D. completed his undergraduate studies at the University of California, Berkeley, where he graduated with honors in Molecular and Cellular Biology. He then attended Tulane University Medical School in New Orleans where he received his Doctorate of Medicine and Master of Public Health simultaneously.
Dr. Nowfar returned to California and completed his urology and general surgery residencies at UC San Diego. He joined West Coast Urology in 2011.
Dr Nowfar is board-certified by the American Board of Urology and serves in many areas of physician leadership. He is Medical Director for Optum-Surgical Care Associates, Expert Medical Reviewer and Utilization Reviewer for multiple medical groups, Medical Executive Board Member, and Medical Credentialing Member. He is a former Clinical Assistant Professor of Urology at UCLA's David Geffen School of Medicine.
Dr. Nowfar brings an extensive background in general urology combined with specialized training in urologic surgical oncology, advanced endoscopic, laparoscopic and robotic surgery. He has been instrumental in the development of the robotics programs at Lakewood Regional Medical Center and Los Alamitos Medical Center. He has started "meshless" surgery for female incontinence. He also brings special expertise in men’s health and management of Peyronie’s disease with new, innovative, and minimally invasive techniques.
In his free time, Dr Nowfar enjoys traveling with his family, surfing, water skiing and snowboarding.
