Dr. Scott D. Smith is a board-certified foot surgeon with specialized training from the Microneurovascular and Operative Endoscopy Institute and in the Arthroscopic Surgery of the Foot and Ankle, Rearfoot Reconstructive Skills Course.
He is a graduate of the California College of Podiatric Medicine in San Francisco. He completed surgical residencies at Pacific Hospital of Long Beach and HealthSouth Green River in Seattle. He is certified by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery. He has completed extensive postgraduate training in laser surgery, endoscopy, and advanced trauma care.
He is affiliated with the Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula and Monterey Peninsula Surgery Centers. He is a member of the American Academy of Podiatric Sports Medicine, American Podiatric Medical Association, American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons, and is on the Advisory Board of Community Hospital, Outpatient Diabetic Education Program.
His outside interests include stand-up comedy and spending time with his family. Dr. Smith grew up in the Monterey Peninsula, played baseball at and attended Carmel High School.

Dr. Smith took the time to truly listen to my concerns and provided clear, helpful feedback. He never minimized the reason for my visit and approached the situation with genuine care. By asking thoughtful questions and carefully working to pinpoint the exact source of my pain, he was able to determine the problem and provide treatment to address it. He is compassionate, personable, and very easy to talk to. I felt heard and well cared for throughout the entire visit.

He is a great doctor, very knowledgeable.
Dr. Scott Smith was excellent. He carefully examined my right foot and clearly explained the possible causes of my swelling and pain. He recommended an MRI for further evaluation and provided a boot to help reduce the discomfort. He took the time to answer all my questions, and I left feeling very satisfied with his care. Highly recommended!
