Dr. Scott Pomerantz received his undergraduate degree from Brandeis University in 1982. He then attended the prestigious Emory University School of Medicine and received his medical degree in 1986. Dr. Pomerantz completed his residency training at the Albert Einstein School of Medicine, where he gained experience learning under some of the top minds at The Montefiore Medical Center. He was selected by the Chairman of the Department to serve as Chief Resident during his final year of residency.
Dr. Pomerantz entered private practice in Paramus, New Jersey in 1990, where he has been practicing for the past three decades. He has performed thousands of cataract surgeries and laser treatments for glaucoma. He is on the cutting edge of cataract surgery, glaucoma management, and macular degeneration diagnosis and treatment. Dr. Pomerantz was the first surgeon in Bergen County to perform cataract surgery using the new Catalys Femto laser and has extensive experience with the advanced technology multifocal and extended depth of focus intraocular lens implants.
Dr. Pomerantz is the founder of Metro Eye Care in Paramus, New Jersey, and is excited about Metro Eye Care’s new location in Franklin Lakes, New Jersey. He is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons. For over 30 years, Dr. Pomerantz has been providing outstanding skill, quality eye care, integrity, and compassion to the Bergen County community.

Dr. Pomerantz has taken care of my eyes for most of my life. From corrective surgery to regular checks, he provides excellent care, with thorough checks, with a spotless facility, with the latest and clean equipment, and an excellent staff. I highly recomment him for anyone looking for eye care!
Very thorough and caring
Dr. Pomerantz is an excellent ophthalmologist. He performed cataract surgery on both eyes and the results were great. I feel like this has enhanced my quality of life. Office staff is professional and warm.
Dr Pomerance preformed my laser assisted cataract surgery 7 years ago on both eyes. Surgery was painless and extremely efffective and without any complications or concerns. I was here today again for a follow up and I’m always impressed by how well the practice is run and how though the examinations are from the staff and doctor as welll. Also, I have never felt I’m being rushed. Thank you.
