Just had my 3rd visit with Mandel. He's quick to want to do surgery, dismissive of alternative methods. Never referred to PT evaluations and didn't even ask. Rough with his exams, and is not good at explaining things in lamen terms. He rushed through the appointments. First appointment was great, but second two appointments were less than reassuring. For these reasons I have a hard time trusting him to be my surgeon if I do in fact have to have shoulder surgery. Gave 3 stars as the office staff has been wonderful, friendly, and professional. It is also pretty easy to get an appointment.

It was clear at the time of my visit that the doctors office didn't pack patients into the office every ten minutes, and therefore little wait time and I did not feel rushed through my appointment. This was my first visit and it was on a Thursday at 10:40am.

Really brief visit

Good morning, I was seen by Dr. Scott Mandel Wed 5/11/22. Never in my 57 years have I had such poor service from a doctor! The referral was for my left elbow and left shoulder. I was 10 minutes early for my appointment but apparently Scott was running 30 minutes behind which I don't see how that was possible because he saw me right on time. He did not appear to want to listen to my symtptoms, he talked over me and was clearly in a rush to see me as quickly as humanly possible. After he asked a couple of questions about my elbow. He got up and said they will bring me in for x-rays. I said, what about my shoulder? He looked exasperated and said he didn’t have time for that and that he can only address one issue today and I would need to come back for my shoulder. I said the referral was for both at which time he snapped at me and said, "that's how we do it here". He then went on to say he was running 30 minutes behind. Absolutely horrible experience, I will NOT be going back!!!

Scott was great but there was a huge disconnect with the scheduling of appointments.

I felt like Dr.Mandel was in a rush during my appointment, he spent less than 10 minutes with me. He told me to continue to do what I was doing but he did't even bother to refill my PT order. I had to chase the paperwork from the nurse

Dr Mandel was dismissive and discourteous. I was in a great deal of pain and he had little compassion or time to explain options. Instead handed me a paper of things to try. I had to stop him to ask for clear guidance on the items listed on the paper. His staff is amazing and helpful. But I would not recommend Dr Mandel at all. At least not in a clinic setting. Nlhis bedside manner is atrocious.
