Dr. Scott Horn is an interventional spine and musculoskeletal physiatrist. Dr. Horn earned his Doctorate in Osteopathic Medicine from Des Moines University School of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of North Carolina Hospital in Chapel Hill. Following his time in Chapel Hill, he completed a fellowship in Spine and Sports Medicine in Winston-Salem, NC. He specializes in non-surgical orthopedic and spine treatments, including image guided spine, joint, and tendon injections in addition to performing regenerative medicine treatments such as platelet rich plasma and stem cell rich bone marrow concentrate injections.
He volunteers as faculty for spinal injection and coding courses on a national level, and holds an appointment as The Spine Intervention Society’s (SIS) Advisor to the American Medical Association’s for medical coding. He currently serves on the SIS Board of Directors as Chair of the Health Policy Division. Furthermore, he holds positions for national specialty societies including American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation as well as North American Spine Society. Due to Dr. Horn’s health policy expertise, he served on the FDA Advisory Panel for epidural steroid injections in addition to participating in the MACRA Episode-Base Resource Use Measures Project.
