Dr. Hormel is a great surgeon and has consistently treated me well in our visits. The only reason I hesitate to give him a 5-star rating is because his appointments feel rushed and there’s very little time to ask more than 1 or 2 quick questions.

I had my initial appointment today (6/16) with Dr. Hormel. He was very nice and knowledgeable. I felt like he was in a bit of a hurry and did not ask if I had any questions. I would expect at a first appointment with a new patient that there would be time allotted for a patients questions. This was my first time ever seeing an orthopedic doctor for my knee. I had a list of questions and told him that I had some questions. He did listen and answered my questions, but I had to initiate this. I would have given him a higher rating if he had asked me if I had any questions.

Dr. Hormel earned his medical degree at University of Washington School of Medicine, and completed his residency at University of Washington Department of Orthopedics. Dr. Hormel is a native of Bellevue, Washington. He has practiced for over 15 years with Orthopedic Physician Associates. He and his wife Shari have 4 children. He enjoys skiing, golf, woodworking and architecture. Dr. Hormel stays very active and involved in baseball and fast-pitch softball, coaching and helping to prevent and repair athletic injuries.
