Dr. Scott Greder, OD is a comprehensive optometrist who specializes in routine and problem-focused eye examinations, pediatric eye care, urgent eye care, and pre- and post-operative examinations.
A Nebraska native, Dr. Greder was raised in North Platte. He received his bachelor of science degree from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln and his doctor of optometry degree from Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago. While at Illinois College, Dr. Greder completed externships at the Veterans Administration Outpatient Center in Tallahassee, Florida and Offutt Air Force Base in Omaha. Dr. Greder joined Midwest Eye Care in 1999.
Dr. Greder is licensed for the practice of optometry by the state examining boards of Nebraska and Iowa. He is a member of both the Nebraska Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association. He was elected president of the Nebraska Optometric Association for the 2017-2019 term. Dr. Greder provides volunteer services for the annual Mission Cataract program, the Hope Medical Outreach Coalition, the Nebraska Optometric Association “See to Learn” program, and the “Opening Eyes” program at the Nebraska Special Olympics.

I waited one full hour before being seen. The young man who attempted to do the pressure test in my eyes couldn't find the hand held device so he did the old version which gives me a lot of anxiety. When I started to panic he just stoped the rest and walked out, Dr. Greder had wonderful bedside manner and said he would do the test himself next time. He's a good doctor but I'm thinking of switching because I don't like my overall experience here.

I was left waiting for one hour and 15 minutes, although the nurse did check in a couple times. It was already determined that I did not need glasses and just needed my eyes checked for diabetes, which only took seven minutes when he finally did the testing after I said I was leaving at one hour and 30 minutes for another appointment. When he finally showed up there was not a word of apology for making me wait so long. He could easily have explained why he was running late, but chose not to do so. This was a total disrespect of my time and me as a person. Was it because I am 75 years old? You will have to ask him.I will not return to him and have already made an appointment with a different doctor.
