Dr. Casper attended the University of Connecticut in 1975 and earned his Doctorate from the University of Kentucky in 1983. He completed his residency at Yale-New Haven Hospital in 1987 and has been with County Ob/Gyn since then. As an avid teacher at the Yale School of Medicine, Dr. Casper teaches “obstetrical simulation” for the medical students with a life sized doll that simulates giving birth. He has traveled the country teaching this method to other medical schools. Dr. Casper is certified with the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and is re-certified annually; he is also a fellow at the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Dr. Casper is an attending at Yale-New Haven Hospital. He is a member of the Connecticut State Medical Society, New Haven Obstetrical Society, and also volunteers on the Board of the New Haven Legal Aides Society in his spare time.
Dr. Casper is serious about fitness and utilizes most of his free time exercising. He trained and completed an Iron Man competition in 2013 that involved biking, swimming, and running. Dr. Casper and his wife enjoy spending time with their children and grandchildren.

He has been my provider for 24 years. He is terrific!
Dr Casper comes into the exam room fully prepared re my history.He takes the time to answer questions and listens to my concerns. He then leaves the exam room in order for me to put the gown on. He returns with another staff member who is an observer. He completes his exam, goes over his findings, again asks if I have any further questions or concerns.
My first time seeing Dr. Casper and he was very personable and informative. After changing my Doctor of 40 years due to retirement, Dr. Casper made the whole experience a seamless transition.
He was so helpful in explaining what was going through. He all guided me for next step. I feel like the medical field is changing , especially just being in hospital for a week. Back at the ER 3 hours after coming home. Dr. Casper was amazing, he sat with me and really guided me as well, to what my next steps needed.
Dr Casper is the best. He is always so patient and very thorough and professional!!
