Dr. Scott Bowen is an excellent doctor and always greet wonderfully!

I used Dr. Bowen in 2005 for bilateral knee replacement, several times since then, and recently for a hip replacement. He has replaced knees and hips for other friends and family. He is one of the only physicians I completely trust. Dr. Bowen is genuinely interested in his patients and gives them all the time they need and deserve to share information and ask questions. He is patient, friendly and interactive. I absolutely love him and will continue to use and recommend him always. Compared with some of our local physicians in another town that I've seen, there is no comparison. Dr. Bowen is the absolute best!

Doctor Bowen made reference to 10 year old knee replacement. I corrected him by saying the knee replacement was only 10 months old. He looked at his notes again. In our discussion, I mentioned an activity that he had assured me in both pre-surgeries that I’d be able to continue to enjoy. This activity had repeatedly been emphasized and discussed during previous visits and surgery discussions over the last few years, yet it was like the first time he had heard about it. This was upsetting and confusing to me. In the end he did tell me to go ahead with the activity but he seemed reluctant in spite of the fact that my rehab and recovery have been successful. I felt not only rushed but also flustered. Although previous visits went well, this one did not in my opinion because I left with unanswered concerns and with doubts as to what I sensibly had thought I could do post-TKR.

Since my appointment yesterday, I have taken Gabapentin for less than 24’hours & already have more pain relief than I’ve had in weeks. Been off OXI for over 24 hours & no withdrawal effects. It wasn’t hitting my nerve pain anyway so glad to be rid of it. Fingers crossed for continued pain relief.

This will be my second surgery with Dr. Bowen.

The P.A. Chris was very nice and very courteous and caring. Dr Bowen came in was very abrupt and uncaring. Told me I was too fat for knee replacement and said there was nothing he could do for me. He was rude and said at my weight and a BMI of 40 there was nothing he could do for me. Lose 60 pounds and come back. He made me feel like a freak and he was very uncaring telling me I should have gastric bypass and proceeded to tell me who does that procedure in the area. I understand I am over weight but I cannot walk or exercise but he didn’t ask about my history and why I gained my weight. He was too busy belittling me about being fat and how dare I waste his time. I will definitely be telling everyone I can about the poor bedside manor of such a “Best of the Best” orthopedic doctor. I will leave it at that, he is rude and very uncaring!!!- when I lose the weight he would be the LAST doctor I would go to, he needs to take a customer service class or two .

Very good Dr.! I was told buy another Dr. My hips where bad. And wanted to replace both hips. They told me my left was worse than right but my left didn't hurt and my right one hurt alot. 2 weeks before I asked Dr. Paul Edward's Nurse's my right hurt me alot worse, could I change my Surgery from my left hip to my right one. Didn't here anything for 2 weeks!! Finally about 4 or 5 days before my Surgery they said ok. But anyway I go to see Dr.Scott Bowen, and in 2 x-rays, then they come in and tell me nothing was wrong with my left hip!!! Thank God for Dr. Scott Bowen!! Kept me from getting a Surgery I didn't need!!
