Saranya Nadella, M.D.

I have always admired Dr. Nadella. But she seems like a different person now. She did not review my x-rays nor discuss my condition. She was mainly concerned about my pain level. She did ask if I had questions. She did not properly end the visit. When she left the exam room I thought that she was stepping out for a moment. However I still think she is very capable.

We waited for more than an hour for her, then she showed up and in less than 15 minutes she send us out. It didn't make us feel welcome or warm, like she was in a hurry.

Dr. Nadella has been my spine doctor for approx 15 years. She helped me avoid spine surgery for 10 years. When time came she made recommendation to Dr. Larry Parker. Had surgery on back in 2017 and sciatic pain was alleviated. Have always received good care from Dr. Nadella.

Does not know how to properly communicate with patient without starting an argument. Has a habit of telling the patient that their answer does not suffice. Refuses to let patient get their answer out before cutting them off and telling them she is not going to continue if the tone continues when she is the one with the tone.

I am sorry to say I wasn't pleased with my recent visit. The Doctor spent less than ten minutes with me, asking a few questions. She then told me to increase a medicine I have been taking for some time and told me I need an MRI, then she was gone.

She was an hour late as I sat in pain. She didnt even know if I was a new patient. My questions or voice seem to annoy her. It was my first time I wanted a real consultation. Switching a Dr is scary now its worse. Do I even go back. She sounds knowledgeable. I think my old Dr was doing unnecessary things.. She heard pain med and assumed I needed to be weaned off. She didnt hear the part of I use holistic meds instead.. And a hint of suggesting I came for the meds.. She suggested a med that would conflict with an existing med. Had we talked she would have known.. She left the room in a hurry.. A nurse later said " do you want me to bring her out" she taught a class that morning and was behind and I paid for it.. Yet my insurance was billed.

She's a peculiar one, but not alone in her "bedside" manner among TOC physicians. She rushes appointments, cutting off the conversation, and interested in quick yes or no answers with no room for elaboration (actually told me she's "not interested in all that"), then she's done. I was actually trying to have a conversation with her as she handed me my check out sheet and ushered me out of the room. Basically, when she gets the info she needs, she's done and she's out lol.

I had to wait 90 min from time to show, 75 min from appt time, for 5 min of her time. I tried to talk to her about some issues and she was very short and, yes, she got me scheduled for getting injections in my back next week, but I expected more discussion with her. I wanted to tell her more about the problems I've had, and find out what to expect with the injections, etc.

I think she is very good, the only problem is that I feel she needs to spend more time listening and understanding what the person is experiencing "the overall big picture" not just how you feel at the moment you are in the office because some situations (pain) come and go, and the day you finally get to see a doctor you may not be in so much pain, but that is not to say that it will not reoccur and often. She is quick to diagnose and be done. If she did I would give her a much higher rating.
