De Gilban is a great doctor. She takes a personal interest in her patients. A couple of months ago, I sent her a report which accidentalky found that I had several nodules on my thyroid. Although she was leaving fir vacation that night she kept on calling me that day until she finally reached me to insure that I made an appointment for a biopsy. She then contacted the doctor who would perform the biopsy. Two days later I had the biopsy.

Dr. Gilban is literally the best primary care doctor I have ever had. She is very smart has a great sense of humor and she takes the time needed - she is never rushed. During one visit there was a question about my medication that my endocrinologist has prescribed and she got the other doctor on the phone !
In this day and age that seemed like a miracle! Dr. Gilban is a special doctor who I am sure anyone would be happy and feel well taken care of , like I do!

Dr. Gilban has been my primary care doctors for over 15 years and I cannot say enough kind words about her knowledge, the medical referrals she has provided and I appreciate her direct approach. I admire her ability to speak multiple languages. And I love that she often has a PA (Physician Assistant) from a local college who is on a rotation at her office and she is open to teaching him/her what she knows best...her work with patients. In other words--she gives back and, as a social worker--I admire that and have deep respect for her.
Dr. Sandra Gilban, has been in practice for many years as a Family Physician in New York City. She completed her medical training and graduated from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro in 1984. She completed her residency at Lutheran Medical Center and completed a fellowship at the Sidney Hillman Institute in New York. She is board certified in Family Medicine and is a diplomate of the American Academy of Family Practice. She holds a certification in Advanced Colposcopy, has conducted six medical research projects, and has written three articles which were published in accredited medical journals.
Dr. Gilban founded her private practice, Sandra Gilban MD PC in 2011 in New York City. She is a strong advocate for preventative care and early detection. She has been recognized as a Castle Connolly Top Doctor since 2016 for her exceptional work as a Family Medicine Physician and was selected as one of Castle Connolly’s Exceptional Women in Medicine in 2020.
