Dr Robinson was great as always!

Over the span of 8 months and several visits, each interaction became progressively worse. Condescending to say the least. When they ask if you have any questions be sure it’s a good one or he will let you know. I was asked if I am having a hard time understanding what he is saying. He made several belittling comments, as if I should just listen and say thank you. He made several statements about my injury that were just not the truth. I am just beside myself. How could such a prestigious practice make this choice. I read through previous reviews and it’s either 5 star service or complete opposite with 1 star and all the comments were exactly the same, condescending and rude. I wish I had been more proactive in the beginning after the first visit and changed care.

Fantastic Doctor, very caring

I initially visited Dr. Robinson because he presented himself as a kind and caring doctor. However, my experience over three visits in the past ten years has been far from satisfactory. Each time, his demeanor has deteriorated, becoming increasingly condescending and arrogant. Dr. Robinson has shown a blatant disrespect for other medical professionals, often boasting that he could teach them his expertise. During my most recent visit, his responses to my questions were dismissive and nonchalant, which was both unhelpful and frustrating. It was so uncomfortable that his physician assistant seemed to avoid eye contact and stared at the computer screen the entire time.

Quite literally one of the best doctors I've ever seen - and at 77, I've seen a bunch. He takes time, explains complex situations carefully and makes sure I understand what he says. Five stars +

5/17/2024 Appointment was terrible, unprofessional, and inappropriate. Began with comment about how I wasted $1,500 on an MRI, which was ordered by my PCP. He stated "She needs to stay in her lane." When I asked how am I suppose to know if I have a blood clot, his response was, the only way that you can tell is by death. He asked if I saw the initials on bottom of sheet he provided me on 1/24/24 visit "TKI." I did not recall seeing that, nor do I know what that meant. When he asked how much relief I got from injection done on last visit (actually was on visit prior, 9/20/23) I stated that I really do not remember how long it lasted. He demanded that I give him a number of days or weeks so I said about 2 weeks. After arriving home I looked at his progress notes from 1/24/2024 which showed injection worked for about 4 months w/80% effectiveness. I was told at this visit that I may need total knee replacement in future. I was here today for follow up to recent MRI 5/7/24

Was absolutely by far the best doctor office visit I have had in my life. In general most doctors and their respective offices that I have experienced to date are not completely informative and very inefficient in the overall process during the process of the visit. This doctors office organization was very thorough, exceptional communication, efficient flow through process, and Dr Robinson provided complete and detailed diagnosis of my shoulder issue with clear and concise follow actions to be taken. All other Hampton Roads doctors and offices should come and see how the optimum medical office visit and exam should occur to ensure proper needed service.

Sam gave me directions, provided information in detail, gave me options to pick and I didn't feel pressured to take any route. I feel that my interaction with the nurse didn't help my interaction at first with him, and while she was in there. I would recommend to others, however for me, the nurses interaction has guided me to go to another orthopedic office. Great doctor, just needs to have more sympathetic and less judgmental staff under him that makes people feel belittled.

Dr. Robinson did not convey to me the long experience which he has accumulated with cortisone shots. He advised me to way until my shoulder pain was excruciating most of the time before I needed a third shot. That would would involve abandoning my 84 year old way of life.

He does what appears on the surface level to be good patient care in the moment by making sure you understood what he is explaining and gives you ample time to ask questions but when you step back and evaluate the appointment conversation it’s very clear he pushes his own agenda (surgery) making other paths to treatment not seem viable and is more concerned with the potential hassle of insurance rather than thorough patient care. His use of fowl language and the F word in the appointment was not appropriate or professional.

Dr. Robinson seemed very professional and was very knowledgeable about my knees from just a few X-Rays. Knees are his "specialty" so I would hope that this would be true. Just a word of advice, if you are working on your VA Disability and doing an "Intent to file" trying to get you knees as a secondary to another Service Connected Disability using a Nexus Letter, then Dr. Robinson may not be the Dr. to help you. He basically said, "I just have good old fashioned Arthritis". Your case may be different, and you may have a better outcome than I did.

Very cold, made me feel that my questions were stupid and not meaningful. Seemed he was in a hurry to get out and move on. Not impressed in the least. Felt like he was talking down to me.

From beginning to end my appointment was thorough and informative. Dr. Robinson and his PA were very attentive and explained things clearly to provide me with the best treatment options.

Dr. Robinson has his patient’s best welfare as his goal. His bedside manner is top notch. My appointment was to schedule a knee replacement and I walked out with better alternatives. The biggest is losing 20-30 pounds. Each pound I loose would equate to 6 pounds of pressure on my knees. Do the math.

My first visit was 05/13/2022 and the experience was professional from the time I checked in . To the nurse's who took me in the back and his assistant was very patient friendly. Inappropriate ! I walked in not scared as I expressed to him and by the end of the appointment he explain how the I don’t want this surgery cause it isn’t sexy because I will go from cane to walker and then that’s only good for going to bingo. After saying that he said I’m on my way to knee replacement surgery. There was more but I’m overwhelmed by his manner language disregard for my situation. I work at SNGH sod dept I am very active this injury was sudden and I went from active to being told hopeless. I need a second option. I fear he has overlooked something. I don’t trust his opinion. I read his chart. He has not reported the visited the visit accurately that is serious. We need to meet

Very knowledgeable and informative! He really took his time to explain everything to me. He assured me that weather it was through physical therapy, injections, or possibly surgery, that we would get me out of pain. Thankfully, he thinks I won’t need surgery, but only the MRI will let him know for sure. He ordered an EMT study for numbness that I am having as well as the MRI to cover all the bases. I appreciate all of his time and expertise.

I felt that he had a preconceived notion of my problem and didn't really listen to what I had to say. I've been to him previously and felt as though he had an interest in helping me. This time he acted as though a bent knee had nothing to do with the discomfort in my back and he assured me that just because the knee has an obvious bend - which is getting worse - that this doesn't mean one leg is shorter than the other one. I had expected more from him since he came highly recommended by a PT. Maybe he was busy and had other duties to attend to. I'm not a needy person and only go to the doctor when it's necessary. I just like to be informed concerning my care.

He began by having my knee x-rayed and evaluating the x-rays before examining my knee. He answered all my questions, especially one concerning MRIs and set me on what I think is a very sound rehabilitation program, including a cortisone shot, ultrasound to ensure there are no blood clots, physical therapy, exercise and diet.
