Dr. Samir Patel is Board Certified in Orthopaedic Surgery. He has earned a Certificate of Added Qualifications in Hand and Microvascular Surgery, an achievement that helped him gain membership in the prestigious American Society of Surgery of the Hand (ASSH). He has also earned his Certificate of Added Qualifications in Sports Medicine. Dr. Patel graduated from West Virginia University Medical School. He completed his internship and residency at West Virginia University. He completed a fellowship in Upper Extremity, Microvascular and Hand Surgery at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA with internationally renowned Dr. Mark Baratz and Dr. Dean Sotereanos. He is a Diplomate of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. Dr. Patel is Division Chief of Orthopedic Surgery at both St. Rita’s Medical Center and Lima Memorial Hospital. He is also the upper extremity team physician for athletes from the University of Northwestern Ohio (UNOH). He is the past president of Academy of Medicine of Lima and Allen County, 2013-2014. Dr. Patel has extensive training in shoulder reconstruction, arthroscopic shoulder surgery, disorders of the elbow, wrist, and hand.
Dr. Patel is accepting new patients at the office locations in Lima and St. Marys.
