She completed her undergraduate studies at Texas A&M University in College Station. Dr. Kasim earned her Doctorate in Osteopathic Medicine at the University of North Texas Health Science Center/Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine in Fort Worth.
At Midwestern University, Dr. Kasim completed her residency training in orthopedic surgery followed by advanced Fellowship training in upper extremity at the San Francisco Shoulder, Elbow & Hand Clinic. Dr. Kasim practices general orthopedics and sports medicine with concentrations in shoulder, elbow, and knee problems.
She was named to the Sigma Sigma Phi Honorary Medical Fraternity and has been selected for Cambridge Who’s Who in Medicine and Healthcare from 2008 to 2015. Dr. Kasim is involved with the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, the American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopedics, and the American Medical Association. Dr. Kasim is a member of the medical staff of Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula, Monterey Peninsula Surgery Centers, and Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital.
Her hobbies include exercising, travel and cooking.

She greeted me with a smile when I went for my post op visit four weeks after my left shoulder replacement. She did a great job in surgery (no complications). So many people know of her and her excellent reputation.

Dr. Kasim was knowledgeable with my ball & socket surgery problem and quickly scheduled a replacement surgery. My initial ball & socket failed. Dr. Kasim replaced the components with a larger size. After some physical therapy, I felt much stronger earlier in my recovery. I’m very confident with Dr. Kasim’s skills as a surgeon and she was very pleasant to deal with as a person.
