Samad Zaheeruddin, M.D.

Dr. Samad Zaheeruddin, M.D., is a highly trained Interventional Cardiologist who brings a wealth of experience and skill to the region. Dr. Zaheeruddin obtained his medical degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine, where he graduated with Health Scholars Distinction. He completed Internal Medicine training at Georgetown University and fellowship in Cardiovascular Diseases at Medstar Heart & Vascular Institute / Georgetown University Hospital. He obtained training in Interventional Cardiology at George Washington University Heart & Vascular Institute focusing on high-risk cardiac interventions, peripheral artery interventions, and structural heart interventions.

Before joining CCMG, Dr. Zaheeruddin spent several years in practice in Virginia. He served as Chief of Cardiology at Mary Washington Hospital in Virginia, achieving several accolades including Virginia Top Doctors Award and the Governor of Virginia’s award as a top Interventional Cardiologist in the state.

Dr. Zaheeruddin provides comprehensive cardiac care and holds board certifications in Interventional Cardiology, Cardiovascular Diseases, and Internal Medicine. He is a Diplomate of the Certification Board of Nuclear Cardiology, a Diplomate of American Society of Echocardiography, and holds certification as a registered physician in vascular interpretation. He is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology. He specializes in advanced, complex coronary interventions utilizing minimally invasive techniques offering both radial and femoral approaches in the cardiac catheterization laboratory. His expertise includes complex bifurcation stenting, including atherectomy and using intracoronary lithotripsy, high risk left main artery interventions, cardiogenic shock management with use of cardiac support devices during high-risk procedures, Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR), Pulmonary Embolism (PE) management with thrombectomy and thrombolysis, and peripheral arterial disease management.

Dr. Zaheeruddin is systematic and embraces a collaborative approach to patient care, working closely with his patients to develop personalized treatment plans, prioritizing their overall health and well-being.
