Dr. Saba N. Khan is an interventional cardiologist at the Chicago Cardiovascular Institute in Chicago, IL. Dr. Khan has extensive experience in cardiac and peripheral interventions such as stenting, atherectomy, limb salvage, venous ablations, and more. She completed her residency in internal medicine at John H. Stroger Hospital of Cook County, where she also served as Chief Medical Resident. She subsequently pursued fellowships in heart failure at Advocate Christ Medical Center, cardiovascular diseases at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, and interventional cardiology at Borgess Medical Center/Michigan State University. She is board-certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular diseases, nuclear cardiology, and interventional cardiology.
Dr. Khan has authored a chapter in the International Society of Heart and Lung Transplantation (ISHLT) Monograph Series on Advanced Heart Failure and has published several articles in peer-reviewed journals. She has presented abstracts at national conferences, including the Society of General Internal Medicine and the American College of Physicians. She has also given numerous invited presentations and lectures on various topics in cardiology.
In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Khan has been involved in several research projects as a sub-investigator, focusing on trials related to acute coronary syndrome, cardiovascular risk reduction, and atrial fibrillation. She has also been actively involved in medical education, serving as a clinical instructor at Rush Medical University and Michigan State University, as well as teaching and mentoring residents and medical students.
Dr. Khan is a member of the American Heart Association, American College of Cardiology, Heart Failure Society of America, American Medical Association, and American College of Physicians. She has received several awards for her compassionate patient care and outstanding ethical conduct during her residency.
