Dr. Ryan Thacher, M.D., earned his medical degree from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons as a Dean’s Scholar and graduated as a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society. He then completed a fellowship in orthopedic sports medicine at HSS, serving as a co-chief administrative fellow and as an assistant team physician for the New York Mets and New York
Red Bulls. His experiences as a top collegiate and professional athlete give him unique insight into the demands of high-level sports and inform his approach to helping athletes and active patients return to peak performance safely and efficiently.
Dr. Thacher is deeply committed to advancing the field of orthopedic surgery through research. He has published over 30 peer-reviewed articles and continues to actively engage in research endeavors, focusing on innovations in sports medicine, surgical techniques, and strategies to improve patient outcomes.

Dr. Thacher provided an excellent diagnosis and showed me the X-rays, and presented a path towards a positive resolution. Appreciated his straightforward manner and focus on my particular situation.
Dr. Thacher was gracious. I didn’t feel rushed. Today some doctors rush clients along. I understood what he was saying. He advised me on what could be done in the future to alleviate pain and discomfort of my left knee.

Very happy with Dr. Thatcher. We've come up with a good treatment plan for tackling two separate issues. He doesn't push for surgery.
