Dr. Ryan Rogers is a board-certified (American Board of Ophthalmology) Ophthalmologist with subspecialty training in oculoplastics and reconstructive eyelid surgery. He graduated from the Chicago Medical School and completed his Ophthalmology residency at Cook County Hospital in Chicago. After a few years in private practice, he then went on to do a fellowship in oculoplastics and reconstructive eyelid surgery at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas to continue to refine his eyelid surgery skills.
Dr. Rogers is especially interested in the surgical correction of eyelids due to aging eyelid malpositions that can result in: ptosis and dermatochalasis which is drooping of the eyelids, ectropion (out-turned eyelids) and entropion (in-turned eyelids), trichiasis (extra eyelashes irritating the eye), and eyelid lesion removal. His oculoplastics skills also include both cosmetic use of Botox to correct frown lines and also the temporary relief of hemifacial spasm and blepharospasm.
In addition to eyelid surgery, Dr Rogers is also interested in general eye health. To him, examining the eye through the slit lamp is like looking at a work of art. Being trained as a general ophthalmologist he continues to care for patients with medical eye conditions such as: dry eye, glaucoma, diabetes, and macular degeneration.
Dr. Rogers has lived and worked all over the country. He returns to New York City, the city he loves for its vitality and culture, and looks forward to being a part of taking care of the medical needs of the community. His interests outside of medicine include: the arts, travel, and skiing.
