Dr. Ryan Patterson is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon who sub-specializes in complex hand and elbow injuries. His training includes an orthopedic surgery residency at the renowned Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Ohio, followed by a hand, upper extremity and microsurgical fellowship at the Wake Forest University / North Carolina Baptist Hospital. To add to his training, Dr. Patterson completed his CAQ (Certificate of Added Qualification). In 2019, Texas Monthly recognized his talent with the “Rising Stars” award. Super Doctors
“It’s essential to provide patients with as much information and as many options as possible to create a tailored medical plan that works best for them. Often, non-operative treatment is the best approach, but when surgery is required, I rely on evidence-based procedures to create reproducible outcomes.”
His other interests include problems with hands, forearms, elbows, shoulders and general fractures. To preserve mussel and tendons, he prefers to use minimally invasive techniques when appropriate.
Dr. Patterson has published numerous scientific articles and presented many research studies in orthopedics and hand surgery regionally, nationally and internationally.

Not only is Dr. Patterson very knowledgeable, experienced, a good listener, and compassionate, but interacting with him in the office appointments is enjoyable. While he's serious in dealing with the challenge of pain and inflammation in my hand, he also has a lighthearted spirit that reveals his fun side! I'm so glad he was recommended to me by both my ortho (shoulder) surgeon and also my functional medicine physician.
