Dr. Anderson earned a master’s degree in exercise physiology and has over 30 years’ experience in fitness and nutrition. This allows her to bring a unique coupling of health and wellness to traditional medicine, which is the most effective way to treat chronic pain conditions.
Prior to her medical education, Dr. Anderson studied dance at NYU School of the Arts in New York City. Her modern dance career was cut short because of a back injury, which enables her to empathize with her patients concerning the debilitating effects of acute and chronic pain. This experience inspired her to pursue an education first in exercise physiology, then eventually in clinical medicine with an emphasis on fitness and nutrition.
Providing a multidimensional approach to the treatment of pain, Dr. Anderson brings more than three decades of experience and a unique approach to the field of health and wellness. As an interventional pain management specialist, she offers the full range of state-of-the-art procedures, including but not limited to epidural steroid injections, a blocking procedure to treat migraines and the implantation of dorsal column stimulators to treat the most severe chronic pain syndromes.
Dr. Anderson also has special interests in exercise and aging, and has published numerous articles on the topics. She is the author of GET MOVING! Live Better Live Longer, a self-help book presenting individualized exercise prescriptions to fight the six leading causes of death and disability in our country.
