He has completed extensive training in the diagnosis and treatment of disorders of the esophagus, stomach, small intestine, colon, liver and gallbladder. Dr. Keener received his medical degree from the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine. He completed his residency at the University of Missouri and his clinical Fellowship in Gastroenterology at the University of Texas.

A native of Stillwater, Oklahoma, Dr. Keener received his undergraduate degree with honors from Oklahoma State University in Stillwater and his medical degree from the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Missouri, Columbia and his clinical Fellowship in Gastroenterology at the University of Texas, San Antonio. He is a member of several professional associations including the American College of Gastroenterology (ACG), the American Gastroenterological Association (AGE), American Society of GI Endoscopy (ASGE), and Oklahoma State Medical Association (OSMA).
Dr. Keener has special interest in colon cancer prevention, gastroesophageal reflux disease and inflammatory bowel diseases.
