Dr. Ronald E. Pachon, M.D., is an Electrophysiologist at Florida Heart Rhythm Specialist in Broward County Florida. Dr. Pachon evaluates and treat patients with cardiac arrhythmias by using medical therapy or invasive procedures such as catheter ablation or pacemaker/defibrillator implantation. Dr. Pachon believes that a comprehensive approach of Cardiovascular disorders can significantly improve clinical outcomes such as symptoms and sometimes even longevity of the patients in his community.
Since Dr. Pachon was young, he has always been fascinated by the art of medicine. As a result of his motivation, dedication, and efforts in medical school, he graduated with honors at the top of the 2003 class of medicine at the San Martin University Foundation in Colombia. Dr. Pachon also earned six scholarships during medical school, each of which was awarded to the student with the highest academic performance.
After he moved to the U.S., he started working with the American Red Cross as a volunteer. He provided relief to victims of disasters and help people prevent, prepare, and respond to emergencies. As a result of his hard work, Dr. Pachon earned the President's Volunteer Service Award from the President's Council on Service and Civic Participation for dedicating 4,000 hours to serving others. At the same time, he worked as a monitor technician assessing the heart rhythm of patients admitted to Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach, Florida. During this time, his interest, understanding and critical thinking in Electrophysiology improved remarkably.
In 2010, he was accepted into the Internal Medicine residency program at Hackensack Meridian Health - Raritan Bay Medical Center in New Jersey and was honored to be selected as chief medical resident. Pursuing his professional dream, Dr. Pachon joined Rutgers University as a post-doctoral fellow in Cardiovascular Biology/Physiology. It was during this time that he started to learn and appreciate the importance of the dynamic field of Cardiology. In addition to the experience and knowledge acquired during the post-Doctoral fellowship, Dr. Pachon supervised and taught Ph.D. and medical students and published articles in peer reviewed journals.
Dr. Pachon subsequently joined the Cardiovascular fellowship program at Broward Health Medical Center in Fort Lauderdale Florida where he was privileged to be selected as chief Cardiology fellow. Dr. Pachon completed his medical training at the University of Miami as a cardiac Electrophysiology fellow. He performed simple and complex Electrophysiologic diagnostic studies, catheter ablations, insertion of Watchman devices, pacemakers, and defibrillators along with other invasive and non-invasive techniques.
One of the subjects that appeals to Dr. Pachon is sudden cardiac death. For this, along with other reasons, Dr. Pachon feels a great motivation and passion to work in the field of Electrophysiology.
When Dr. Pachon is not taking care of patients, Ronald enjoys spending time with his family, playing soccer, pool or listening to music and dancing. One of Dr. Pachon’s hobbies is to travel and getting to know different cultures around the world.

Dr Pachon is a fabulous Doctor!
Dr. Packing was very professional and informed. He was also prepared for follow-up appointment. He explained all of the possible effects of Amiodarone. I am having eye issues, he took me off the medication.
