He earned his Bachelor of Arts from Occidental College in Los Angeles, CA, and his medical degree from the University of California School of Medicine, San Francisco. Dr. Weeks completed his internship at Sacramento Medical Center (now UC Davis Medical Center) in Sacramento, CA. He then served as a General Medical Officer in the US Navy Reserves in San Diego, CA. His specialized training includes an Ophthalmology residency at the University of Colorado Medical Center in Denver, CO.
Dr. Weeks is board-certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and the American Academy of Ophthalmology. He is also an Overseas Fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine, London, UK. His research includes the publication “The Corneal Distribution of Antibiotics” in the American Journal of Ophthalmology.
After many successful years in his solo practice, which operated from April 1977 to July 2014, Dr. Weeks joined North Bay Eye Associates. He has held significant leadership roles, including past president of the Medical Staff at Petaluma Valley Hospital, serving on its executive committee from 1987 to 2014. His professional affiliations include the American Academy of Ophthalmology (where he is a Fellow), California Association of Eye Physicians and Surgeons, California Medical Association, and Sonoma County Medical Association.
When not working, Dr. Weeks enjoys a rich personal life. He attends plays and musical performances, visits art museums, and plays the violin. He also enjoys reading novels and mysteries, hiking, cooking, and dining out with his wife, who is his partner in solving nightly crossword puzzles. He has been a part of a writing group for several decades, primarily focusing on absurdist fiction. Additionally, he enjoys traveling to the Northwest and Canada and visiting relatives in England. Dr. Weeks currently practices at the Petaluma location of North Bay Eye Associates.
