A native of Virginia and Penn State College of Medicine graduate Dr. Rodney E. Brenneman, M.D. joined OAL in 2014. He is a board certified, orthopaedic surgeon specializing in joint replacement procedures, including total knee, hip and shoulder replacement surgery.
Dr. Brenneman currently serves as Chief of the Division of Orthopedics at Penn Medicine Lancaster General Hospital. In addition to his work with OAL, Dr. Brenneman has participated in multiple medical mission trips, including work in Honduras. Outside of taking care of his patients, Dr. Brenneman enjoys spending time with his family. In addition, he enjoys biking & unicycling, running, and playing the guitar.

Top notch doctor! Doesn’t make you feel rushed and listens to you. Very professional!
Nice but, I do not feel like he took my issue seriously. I felt rushed and like I was wasting his time because it’s not a major injury. He pushed for me to decide next steps and I don’t feel qualified to do that. It felt like he was putting a bandaid on the situation instead of long term preventative measures. I’m sure he’s great for major injuries or surgical needs but, I will be seeking a 2nd opinion on my care.
Dr Brenneman always explains my options. I trust his opinion and feel confident that he will take good care of me.
Impressive! Dr.Brenneman assistant was running behind, he came out to waiting room and took me back.
Kind caring and knowledgeable
Very personable and professional. He listened to my concerns and addressed them well. Gave a great plan moving forward so I knew what to expect.
He’s knowledgeable, compassionate, and took the time to listen to my mother’s concerns and explain my mom’s condition and treatment options clearly. We never felt rushed, and we felt confident that my mom was in good hands.
Dr Brenneman he will give his opinion and let you tell him what you think. He’s very pleasant and takes his time , he doesn’t rush you.
Always interested in getting me back to running as quickly as possible. He understands and cares about my priorities.
