Dr. Robert Vercio, M.D., is fellowship trained in all aspects of surgery in the hand, elbow and shoulder. He completed the Hand and Upper Extremity Fellowship at the Medical College of Wisconsin.
He is passionate about patient education and partnering with patients, working together to help them make the best treatment decisions. He is skilled in ultrasound of the upper extremity for diagnosis and treatments and is co-author of a textbook to assist other physicians with these useful exams and techniques. Dr. Vercio has also spent time in developing countries from Nepal to Haiti and plans to continue helping those in need.
Dr. Vercio is a South Sound native who grew up in Gig Harbor and is excited to be back in the PNW. When not mending bones in need, he enjoys chasing around his small family, spending time on the water, artisan bread baking and photography.

Excellent surgeon, communicates very well on procedures and expectations. Very prompt and caring. I would definitely recommend him.
Dr Vercio was very pleasant and explained clearly what could be done to alleviate the pain of my issue. He did not seem rushed, nor did he brush off my concerns.
Dr. Version is very skilled as a hand specialist. He is very good as an explainer of what went wrong, what the fix could be and what the long term outcome is likely to be. What more could you want in a hand surgeon? 5 stars.
I felt like he didn’t hear my problems. Didn’t address any of my issues and told me I had to deal with it. I’ve been doing therapy 3 months and they stopped me and told me to see a doctor. Well I saw Dr Vercio just to be told to go back to therapy and deal with my pain until it may get better. There was no further care plan, next steps, what to expect. He didn’t even schedule a follow up
