Dr. Robert Pivec is a fellowship-trained, board-eligible orthopedic surgeon specializing in total and partial replacement of the hip and knee. Dr. Pivec believes in treating all patients as if they were family. He believes in having in-depth discussions for any knee and hip condition so that his patients have a thorough understanding of not only the treatment options, but the benefits of each option so they can make a more informed decision. He also happens to be fluent in three different languages: English, Czech, and Slovak.
Dr. Pivec attended medical school at St. George’s University in Grenada, West Indies from 2006-2010. After medical school, he spent his time in orthopedic research programs and became a research coordinator at the SUNY Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York where he completed his orthopedic surgery residency from 2014 to 2019. In 2019 Dr. Pivec was awarded ‘Resident of the Year’ at SUNY. Upon completion of his residency program, he began his orthopedic fellowship in Adult Reconstruction in 2019 at Rothman Institute, Thomas Jefferson Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and completed the program in August of 2020.

Good explanation of processes of knee and procedure for my treatment..very personable.
Dr Pivec was great! Unfortunately I can’t say the same about the experience with scheduling my appointments or the person I spoke with on the phone when trying to schedule my appointments. She made mistakes on every appointment as well as giving the wrong code to my insurance which caused so many problems . She was then rude to me over the phone. I ask for her to have a supervisor call me to discuss. I never received a call from anyone , and of course when I tried to schedule my next appointment she screwed it up again.

I appreciate the time Dr. Pivec took to answer all my questions and concerns as he treated my Pseudo Gout condition (knees). He has great understanding of the excruciating pain and is very willing to offer several treatment possibilities for helping me. I highly recommend him and would definitely go to him for a knee replacement if that need arises !! 🤗
