I had a very pleasant visit and Dr. Blackwell is super nice, smart, and to the point.

I see Dr Blackwell for trigger thumb. This weekend I fell and injured my shoulder. It's excruciating just to breath or cough. I can't lay down because it hurts so bad. Needless to say, I haven't been able to rest. I went to Ortho GA'surgent care last night in hopes they could give me a steroid shot or something. I also told them that my thumb was bothering me. They did xrays of my shoulder. They said they could get me an appointment for the next day at 1315. I got there and Dr Blackwell came in . I thought he was going to treat my thumb and that a shoulder specialist would come inknext. Dr Blackwell said I am not a shoulder Doctor I'm a hand doctor. He kept saying that while he was doing my thumb injection. He said he wanted to stay in his lane. I said I wouldn't want someone who doesn't specialize in shoulders injecting mine. I was asking him what should I do next and he said " I can't treat your shoulder. I never asked him to. He said yes you did. So rude especially when u are h

Just need to shorten the wait time in the appointment room. Had to acknowledge that I needed an exray after being the last one sitting in that waiting area. The doctor was very personable and knowledgable referring to the exray for a proper diagnosis.

Fantastic doctor. Explained things in terms I could understand and was super-patient in answering questions. He was clear in his recommendations and I was surprised and relieved that surgery was not his first choice! After waiting over two and a half hours I was finally seen only for the appointment to lay less than ten minutes. My appointment was rushed and I was not given the chance to explain my pain or the severity of it before being dismissed.

I was willing to try injections for relief and it was a unhelpful decision because pain intensified after about 6 hours and I guess I will have to have the surgery that I discussed with Dr. Blackwell. I will have to schedule a day with him to get it done.

Dr. Blackwell came in already set on a certain treatment and while we listened to what he had to say, this doctor had no interest in listening to what we had to say or our concerns. I was told by this doctor I needed to "adjust my behavior" because I voiced my point of view and concerns over casting my sons hand for a nearly healed laceration. This was our first experience and in 2 hours in the office we were with the doctor for 7 minutes to be treated like we were incompetent.
