I was a brand new patient. I had two major orthopedic complaints which I was seeking his help for. These issues have worsened rapidly in the last few months and this is something that scares me considering how young I am (under 25).
AT MINIMUM, I was hoping to have a conversation with him about said concerns.
This man spent five minutes or less in the room with me. NO physical examination was performed. His every word and every move was rushed. After that five-minute appointment I still had questions, I wasn’t done talking about my other concern. Which is understandable— who would’ve had enough time to cover those issues in five minutes?
As I stood up from the exam table to further demonstrate the loud popping in my hips, he was already reaching for the door to leave. And I didn’t stop him because he really didn’t seem interested in helping me at all. Told me to follow up with his PA and then bolted out of the door.
What happened to bedside manner? Being personable? Being thorough?
