Dr. Richard Hood, M.D. received a Doctor of Medicine at Wayne State University in 1988. He completed a Residency program at Children's Hospital of Detroit and Providence Hospital in Southfield, Michigan. He completed a six month residency in both Pain Management and CV Anesthesia. Dr. Hood moved to the Southwest Florida area in 1999 with his wife and four children. Initially, he worked in Naples, Florida, and most recently he has joined the Institute for Orthopaedic Surgery and Sports Medicine group in Fort Myers and Estero, Florida. Dr. Hood enjoys swimming, biking, and spending time with his family.

Dr Hood showed professionalism and very knowledgeable explaining to me what is best for my lower back pain management. He even showed me by using a spine skeleton to point where the pain and how the suggested options will help me for my pain. He took time and really listened to all my questions and answered them all. I was very pleased and satisfied walking out his office. Also, all his staff from the moment you checked in with Tammy (very welcoming with a smile) to Jimmy who took my X-ray (very meticulous and polite) to Jose who took my past medical infos (didn’t rush me and took time to gather my infos for Dr Hood ) all of them gave me full respect and they are all very attentive. It was worth the wait having this appt and now I am less stress to now because they are just in my city. Very well recommended.

Dr Hood is beyond 5 stars!!!! He has been my pain management Dr for over 10 yrs. He is kind, professional with a quality that you don’t find in Dr’s anymore, he has wonderful bedside manors. He honestly cares about his patients and listens to them so he can help them. I am grateful to have him as my Doctor. Thank you Dr Hood for treating me as a person not a number. I also want to say his assistant “Jose” acts and treats you just as well as Dr Hood 5 stars for you too.
