Dr. Richard Herman was born and raised in Carrollton before moving to Atlanta at age 11. He is a graduate of The Westminster Schools in Atlanta and received his bachelor of science degree in Biology from the University of Mississippi.
While teaching science at the Wesleyan School in Atlanta, Dr. Herman began his lifelong pursuit of becoming a physician. He went on to graduate from the Medical College of Georgia with his doctorate of Medicine and then completed his residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at the Augusta University Health System.
Most recently, Dr. Herman completed a Hand & Upper Extremity (hand, elbow, shoulder) fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. It was a natural fit for Dr. Herman to return to Carrollton to begin his medical career.
Dr. Herman is married with 3 boys and the family resides in Carrollton.

Very nice doctor and very knowledgeable.
Dr. Herman is upsolutly one of the best he was very easy to talk to he scetched everything on paper what he was going to do at my surgery and explained everything he eased my mind about giving me any kind of shots to num me until I was a sleep that really helped my anxiety he was professional but yet very friendly and easy to talk to thank you DR Herman

Dr. Herman is awesome! He provides valuable information on what to expect and gives tips on how I can manage what might come up. May seem like common sense to some but I value the coaching! He goes above and beyond.
