Dr. Richard Bassett started his career as a physical therapist and enjoyed working with patients who had hip and knee replacements, so he decided to go back to school to specialize in hip and knee arthroplasty as an orthopedic surgeon. Dr. Bassett enjoys seeing his patients improve their function and daily activities with less pain.
Dr. Bassett wants his patients to understand their specific orthopaedic condition and provide them with all alternatives of care, including all the available conservative and surgical options. Dr. Bassett hopes to give his patients improved quality of life with less pain.
In his free time, Dr. Bassett enjoys following the stock market. He likes boating and snow skiing with his family as well as watching his children in their sporting events.

My visit was very professional. He pointed out my problem, I told him what I was doing to help my situation and he agreed and told me to continue what I have been doing to alleviate my pain and once that doesn't work any longer then to come and see him and we will work on another form of treatment plan or plans which he explained to me but that I am not a candidate for knee replacement at this point. He was very straight forward with me and appreciated his honesty and professionalism.
Dr. Bassett is my go to surgeon for joint surgery. Always gives me the options and answers any questions I might have. Highly recommend.

The Dr was very kind, explained my options, time frames and never tried to sell me on anything or talk over me. I bought some time doing gel for now, but if I do the knee replacement, It will be Dr Bassett.
