Dr. Richard Bassett started his career as a physical therapist and enjoyed working with patients who had hip and knee replacements, so he decided to go back to school to specialize in hip and knee arthroplasty as an orthopedic surgeon. Dr. Bassett enjoys seeing his patients improve their function and daily activities with less pain.
Dr. Bassett wants his patients to understand their specific orthopaedic condition and provide them with all alternatives of care, including all the available conservative and surgical options. Dr. Bassett hopes to give his patients improved quality of life with less pain.
In his free time, Dr. Bassett enjoys following the stock market. He likes boating and snow skiing with his family as well as watching his children in their sporting events.

I was very happy with Dr Bassist and my whole experiences at Granite
Dr Bassett is very nice and answered all my questions.
I gave him 4 stars because I know they always do X-rays. X ray do not show torn muscle meniscus or other tissues in the knees. I felt my bone joint is good . But I feel I may have a torn meniscus very painful. So I feel I couldn't get what I needed at that time. I know Dr. Bassett is a really.good doctor. I will go back.
Dr. Bassett did a left hip replacement a year ago, which turned out great! My most recent visit was for right lower back pain. I thought it was my right hip, but Dr Bassett did an assessment, and it is my sacroiliac joint. I opted for a steroid injection, and now I am pain free. Dr. Bassett is the absolute best!!8
Very attentive, great bedside manner, and outstanding with explanations and options.
This doctor seems very knowledgable and the location is awesome. I am there for my left knee pain.
Dr. Bassett and his staff were very good at making me comfortable and in explaining what I needed to know. They were all kind, thoughtful, and courteous and I would highly recommend them.
