Riaz R. Rahman has joined the Cardiovascular Institute of the South in the Acadiana region as an interventional cardiologist. Dr. Rahman is originally from Trinidad and Tobago and graduated with honors when earning his medical degree at the University of the West Indies.
Dr. Rahman spent the past seven years in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania completing both his general cardiology and interventional cardiology fellowships at the Allegheny General Hospital, where he served as the chief cardiovascular disease fellow. He also completed his internal medicine residency at the UPMC Mercy Hospital, where he served as the chief internal medicine resident.
