Riaz R. Rahman has joined the Cardiovascular Institute of the South in the Acadiana region as an interventional cardiologist. Dr. Rahman is originally from Trinidad and Tobago and graduated with honors when earning his medical degree at the University of the West Indies.
Dr. Rahman spent the past seven years in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania completing both his general cardiology and interventional cardiology fellowships at the Allegheny General Hospital, where he served as the chief cardiovascular disease fellow. He also completed his internal medicine residency at the UPMC Mercy Hospital, where he served as the chief internal medicine resident.
Among the professional societies to which Dr. Rahman belongs are the American College of Cardiology, the American Heart Association, and the American Medical Association. He is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine-Cardiovascular Disease, the Board of Nuclear Cardiology and the National Board of Echocardiography.

Asked about symptoms but then cut me off when telling him about them and wouldn’t let me get through the list I made (due to not being able to remember things) and then went with what my previous dr wrote down due to not fully knowing what’s going on vs what previous dr told me in person and felt like he was trying to gas light me but if he would have let me finish my symptoms then he would know that there is more going on and previous dr didn’t have the proper testing needed available to make a proper diagnosis for me and was treating as if it was what we assumed it was rather than what he put down, I only changed drs cause we moved and I couldn’t stay with previous dr.
