Dr. Rene A. Lucas is a double board-certified physician in pain medicine as well as physical medicine and rehabilitation. He specializes in the diagnosis and management of painful conditions of the entire spine.
Dr. Lucas most recently completed a one-year fellowship in interventional spine and musculoskeletal medicine with The CORE Institute under the direct supervision of Dr. Eric Feldman. Before completing his fellowship with The CORE Institute, Dr. Lucas held the position of Medical Director of the Acute Rehabilitation Unit at Banner Del E. Webb Medical Center for over 15 years. He earned his medical degree from the University of California San Francisco as a UC Regents Scholar after graduating summa cum laude from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles.
Dr. Lucas is a diplomate of both the American Board of Pain Medicine (ABPM) and the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (ABPMR). He is a member of the North American Neuromodulation Society (NANS), North American Spine Society (NASS), International Spine Intervention Society (ISIS), American Academy of Pain Medicine (AAPM), and the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (AAPMR).

My favorite doctor I have ever had. 100% Dr. Lucas really listens to you. He doesn't rush and is very pleasant to talk to. He works hard treating the area to relieve pain. I promise you will feel the same way after you meet with him!

Dr Lucas took the time and personal interest in my procedure yesterday. For some reason sedation slipped through the request. He did not put me off and allow the pain and timeline to continue by rescheduling. He took the time to ensure I was taken care of. Now I am one step closer to relief rather than still in pain and frustrated. With the timing required for procedures to be done at a facility like this it shows his in me and not turning a number.
We need more doctors like him. Very caring and helpful to gett your pain under control.
