Rebecca Chung OD, FAAO, FSLS

Passionate about patient education, Dr. Rebecca Chung, O.D. provides comprehensive vision care that focuses on optimizing every patient’s vision, eye health, and quality of life.

Raised in Vancouver, Canada, Dr. Rebecca Chung received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biotechnology with Honours from the University of British Columbia. She then attended Pacific University College of Optometry, where she graduated with her Doctor of Optometry degree as Valedictorian, having also earned the highest written board exam score in her class.

Dr. Chung went on to complete the Medical Contact Lens Fellowship at Casey Eye Institute, Oregon Health & Science University where she received advanced training in fitting specialty contact lenses to rehabilitate the vision and eye health in patients of all ages affected by corneal injury, disease or surgery complications. Her expertise lies in hard-to-fit cases for such conditions as keratoconus, irregular corneas from scarring or laser surgery, corneal transplants, high astigmatism and severe dry eyes.

Her personal need to wear glasses from a young age has also driven her clinical interest in slowing the progression of myopia or nearsightedness in children today. Dr. Chung is experienced in prescribing myopia control treatments that include orthokeratology and MiSight® 1 Day contact lenses.

Dr. Chung is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry, a distinction achieved by less than 10% of optometrists nationwide for upholding the highest standards of professional competence. She is also a Fellow of the Scleral Lens Education Society, a designation given to proven scleral lens fitters by experts in the field. Dr. Chung has presented on the topic of specialty contact lenses at multiple national optometry conferences. In her free time, she enjoys Zumba, traveling to eat, and hiking through the Pacific Northwest with her husband, Andy.
